B'Nai David

B'Nai David

Pittsburgh, PA

6' x 30' 1of 9 (faceted glass)

Architect: Henry Hornbustel

This window is an interpretation of Judaism’s belief in man, in his ability to know happiness on earth and above all in Life itself.
Abstractly this is indicated by a quasi-simulated form of perhaps Man, Woman and Child. The colors are joyous, a blaze of yellows and soft browns and ligth greens? the colors of Spring. A feeling of strength, serenity and quiet joy prevail in the linking of the three abstract forms.
“What is man that Thou are mindful of him?” cries out the Psalmist.
(Psa. 8:7)
